I have always heard that there are a ton of benefits to drinking enough water every day.


As I looked into the topic I found a lot more benefits then I thought I would. I can now understand  why in many cultures water is a symbol of life. I don’t think I fully appreciated, before now,  the vital role water plays in keeping every function of our body working properly.


Here are my top 6 compelling reason to drink enough water every day:


1-Water helps you stay youthful looking

Drinking enough water moisturizes your skin, reduces fine lines, and helps with your complexion (i.e. less blemishes)and increases skin elasticity. So if you want to look younger longer, make sure you drink up!


2- Water helps you lose weight

Water is a natural appetite suppressor. It helps flush out toxins which helps your liver and kidney function properly increasing your body’s natural metabolism. (AKA drinking proper amounts of water each day will help you lose weight!)


3-Water helps you tone muscle

4-Water helps Boost your Energy

Drinking enough water helps your heart to pump your blood (which carries necessary oxygen and nutrients to your body’s cells) more efficiently.  This is why dehydration makes you feel tired and sluggish.

Your body needs water to break down your food, and flush the human waste out of your body. Dehydration leads to water retention, bloating, and even constipation.


6- Water helps prevent Headaches

A common type of headache is called a dehydration headache.  In a study about dehydration headaches patients reported that they experienced total relief within 30 minutes of drinking  2 cups of water.

    1. Me too. Some days I am great at drinking enough water, some days not so great.

    1. I hear you. It is sometimes easier to dring other things than water, but our bodies are calling out for water to fill its needs. Sometimes I am better at this than others.

  1. Great post! I used to think it was too easy to forget to have water, but when I decided to give up sodas on Mondays-Fridays and bought my own water bottle, it got a lot easier. It’s just a habit, in the end, but it never hurts to re-read the benefits of drinking all that water! Thanks for this!
