My husband and I were in dire need of a date night.
As many of you may know we are in the process of selling our home, and a lot of our stuff in preparation of moving out of state. These last few weeks especially have been particularly trying on my family and even on our relationship. (since we have has to skip a few date nights and there is sooo much stress going on in our home.)
Yes, my hubby and I needed to get out and enjoy ourselves. When I was offered two VIP tickets to Odysseo By Cavalia (currently performing in SLC about 30 minutes from where I live) to attend their social media night I was thrilled. In preparation to going, I went online to their website to learn more about what this show entailed. )I was a little fuzzy on the details. I also went to Youtube to learn more, and seriously the more I learned, the more excited I was to attend.
Nothing I had read or seen online prepared us for the sheer epicness of our experience.
We began our evening meeting up at the Rendez-Vous VIP tent to pick up our passes and programs as well as enjoy a gourmet Buffet style dinner. Honestly, the food was Amazing. Seriously it was soo good part of me wanted to sneak over and grab some seconds.
It was fun gathering with some of the other bloggers there for the social media night to snag a group picture together. These ladies are amazing and I look up to many of them in the blogging world and as people.
When it was time to go find our seats we were presented with bags of free popcorn and bottles of water to enjoy during the show. They really know how to treat their VIP guests.
Walking into the main tent it was magical. I can only imagine how much work it takes to set everything up in each city they visit. I loved the beautiful artworks of horses that were hung throughout the main and VIP tents. I wish I had gotten pictures of all of them.
I love the trivia displayed on the closed curtains in the minutes leading up to the beginning of the show. It was cool to learn that of the 67 horses in the show 10 are Stallions and the rest gelding. There was not a single mare in the show.
I was totally unprepared for the performances themselves. I loved watching the beauty of the horses racing free across the stage as much as the trained performances. We were soo close sitting on row 5 that I felt almost as if I could reach out and touch them.
The horses aren’t the only talent in Odysseo by Cavalia. The human performers were amazingly talented. I loved watching the human performance which were interspersed between the horses.
With permission, I was allowed to live stream and post a few short snippets of the show for my social media accounts. You can view the videos and pictures on my Facebook account HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE as well as my Instagram Account HERE and HERE. They really don’t do them justice but you get the idea of how epic they were.
During the half time intermission, we were invited back to the VIP tent for desserts which were as yummy as dinner was. My husband and I ate quickly so we would have time to look at more of the artwork hanging throughout the tent before heading back to our seats (with a fresh batch of popcorn) in time for part two.
After the show, we were invited back to the stables for a closer look at the many horses in the show. You could see that they were well taken care of as the many grooms brushed down the horses and braided their hair for the night while the tired horses munched away on their dinner.
Over all I have to say that the night totally exceeded my expectations. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable date night and my husband and I agree it was simply magical. We were glad to have been able to go. The Show runs through June 6th and honestly if you haven’t been yet and have thinking about it, you totally should go. It is well worth the cost of the tickets.
I am also running a 24-hour FLASH GIVEAWAY for 2 more tickets to Saturday’s (May 21st) 1:30PM show on my Instagram Account HERE. The giveaway ends tomorrow (Friday, May 20, 1PM – Mountain Time) so hurry and enter!
