Being a parent in Today’s world isn’t easy.
Truth be told we all need all the help we can get. That is one of the reason’s I started my blog. I wanted to be of help to other moms out there in the trenches just like me. After all, while I am not perfect or an expert but I have ideas, and experiences and love to help. I’m also a bit opinionated though I try to tone it down on my blog 😉
Another great resource for parents that I have found and love is Uplift Families. Uplift Families started as an initiative of the First Lady of Utah Jeannette Herbert. She too saw the need to strengthen and lift parents (and thus families). Uplift Families offers many awesome tips, articles, and more on their website and Youtube Channel and once a year they have a parenting conference at Thanksgiving Point, Utah!
Last year my husband and I were able to attend their parenting conference and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Yes, I just typed in all caps. It was just that good. To be honest my husband was not thrilled when I told him that we were going to attend a parenting conference for our date night and sort of dragged his feet in going. Imagine his ad my surprise when not only did he love the food provided (it really was delicious) but he also ended up writing notes all over his program because he was that moved by what the presenters had to say.
If you want to know more of my experience from last year’s Uplift Families Parenting conference you can read my post HERE.
Now for the good news. Yes, they are having another parenting conference this year. It is gong to have a Luau theme so the food should be super good. The conference is going to be on August 27th at the Thanksgiving Point Show Barn from 5:30 – 9pm. The keynote speakers are Richard and Linda Eyre. and like last year there will be other great speakers as well.
