Why You Want To Get The Paris Pass

Are you planning to vacation in Paris?
My husband and I just got back from an Anniversary European Getaway. Our first stop on our trip was Paris. I have always wanted to visit the City of Love and it felt fitting to do so while celebrating 10 years of marriage to my best friend. Having never been to Paris before I wanted to make our trip as stress-free as possible while still experiencing all the best that Paris has to offer. Before we went I did a lot of research on where I wanted to visit and what I wanted to see while in Paris. While doing so I learned about the Paris Pass and knew it would be perfect for our visit.
I loved the idea that with one pass I could have access to almost everything I wanted to see and do in Paris while also providing access to transportation to get everywhere. My husband liked that ith the Paris Pass it was easier for him to budget our time in Paris.
The Paris Pass can be bought for 2, 3, 4 or 6 days. It includes
- a Travel Pass good for all public transportation for zones 1-3 in central Paris
- a Museum Pass getting you access into over 60 different Museums (like the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay)
- Fast Track entry to specific locations (to you know to skip the long lines)
- An Attraction Pass (which gets you into various tours and attractions (like the Big Bus Hop on and off Tour and a guided tour of the Garnier Opera House.)
- A Guide book (giving you the 411 on all the places you might want to visit while in Paris)
- Special discounts for shops and restaurants in Paris.
You can order online or buy in person at the Big Bus/Paris Pass shop. Then you can use either the Guide book or app to decide where to go first.
Our first choice was to take the Big Bus hop on and off bus tour around Paris. I like taking these tours when we go to a new city, because not only do they have stops at all the best tourist spots but you also get to learn cool things all about the city you are touring. It is really a great way to get familiar with Paris.
Our Paris Pass really made it easy to check out the local museums which Paris has a ton of. Our favorite two were, of course, the Louvre where we got to see the famous Venus De Milo and Mona Lisa as well as many other amazing works of art. There was soo much to see at the Louvre we actually ended up staying there for over 4 hours.
Our other favorite museum was the Musee de Orsay which was actually an old railway station converted into a museum. It was actually a really cool building. Here is where we found the works of great impressionist like Monet and Van Gogh.
The Paris Pass attraction card got us access to the Notre Dame bell tower tour which allowed us to climb to the top of the famous bell tower higher than the gargoyles for a spectacular 360 view of Paris.
It also included a guided tour of the Garnier Opera House which inspired the Phantom of the Opera. This Opera House was absolutely stunning. from the grand marble staircase to the lush Red seats this was the most amazing Opera House I have ever been to and the guided tour was a highlight of our visit.
We used the transportation card in the Paris Pass a lot over the 2 days we spent in Paris. It really made it easy to get around since Paris is actually quite big and it helped soo much to be able to just be able to swipe our travel card to use the metro or busses as needed. This saved my poor feet (especially at the end of the day when I didn't want to walk any more than I needed to.) I have to admit (other than saving time and energy) my favorite part of riding public transportation was the people watching.
If you are looking for a stress-free way to visit Paris I highly recommend looking into getting The Paris Pass for you and your family. **As a side note the Paris pass doesn't include the Museum Pass for children (since kids get in free to most museums in Paris) which is why it is soo much cheaper.
