Product Review: The Solo3 Beats By Dre Wireless Headphones

Why you want to say goodbye to cheap substandard headphones and invest in quality like the Solo3 Beats by Dre Wireless Headphones.

I don't know about you but music is a vital part of my life. It always has been. If you followed me around for the day you would probably see me rocking out to music while cooking, cleaning and tending my children. Or perhaps you would see me belting out my favorite tunes at the top of my lungs while doing errands in my car. You would most likely see me tuning out distractions while I try to work from home. And of course, you would see me singing my kid's lullabies every evening as I put them all to bed for the night. I listen to music while working out and I even listen to music while reading (which is my favorite past time.).  Yes, music is just as important to me as eating, breathing, and sleeping.

Though I sometimes love to blast my music from my speakers for all to hear and enjoy, too often due to consideration of those around me I find myself listening to my music via earbuds or headphones. This way my husband who also works from home and even the kids are free to listen to their choice of music, audio books, movies, tv shows etc without it clashing with what I am listening to.

Being the frugal mom that I am, I have long made the mistake in making due with cheapo earbuds and headphones. However, I have decided to change that. I am tired of my earbuds being uncomfortable, having inconsistent quality, and falling out of my ears way to easily (especially when I am active). I am also tired of my headphones not having quality sound, not being good at blocking out background noise and breaking way too often.

Decided it was time to just get myself some quality headphones I got online to do a little research to decide what brand I wanted. I finally Settled on Beats by Dre headphones and after going to their website beatsbydre.com to get the product details on their various headphones I fell in LOVE with their Solo3 Wireless Headphones.

I decided on getting these wireless Bluetooth headphones because they would give me the freedom to listen to music and audio books without having to be connected to my phone, tablet, iPod, or computers. I really liked this idea. Why because when I am moving around the cords would too often get tangled or caught in my clothes, kids, or objects around me pulling my headphones off my head which was not only annoying but also one of the leading causes of my headphones breaking.

I went with black since it is sleep and going with everything, but the other colors are absolutely gorgeous as well. When my headphones arrived in the mail, it was like my birthday and Christmas all wrapped into one. I couldn't wait to open the box to try my headphones.

I have to say I love how the headphones are packaged and that it came with a nifty carrying case and carabiner to keep the headphones safe when not in use. The box also came with easy to follow instructions, a headphone jack (for when you want to use your headphone when their battery is too low for wireless use.), and a USB charging cord.

I love how small the headphones fold up so they don't take up too much space to store when not in use. I also love how sleek they look.  I can totally wear them anywhere with anything and not look out of place.  Ok well not everywhere. I probably wouldn't wear them to church or a formal event, but anywhere else.  My husband loved that I got the black ones so he can borrow them on occasion when I am not using them.

Next came pairing the headphones with my phone (which is what I use to listen to most of my music). In the past, I have had issues when trying to pair devices via Bluetooth so I was a little worried about trying to do so with my new headphones. The instructions for setting up the headphones were easy to follow. They had separate instructions for apple devices as well as Android. All I had to do to pair the headphones was access the settings on my phone, go to the Bluetooth screen, and hold the power button on the headphones for 5 seconds. Once I did that the Solo3 appeared as a pairable device, and then all I had to do was click on the Solo3 and walla! The Headphones were paired! You can control what you are listening to from your device or directly from the headphones.

The first thing I noticed when I put the headphones on was how comfortable they are. I could wear them for hours without my ears or head getting sore (which happened a lot with my old headphones.  Next was the sound cancellation quality. My three kids can get crazy and loud. This makes working from home sometimes difficult. However when I put the headphones on the background noise dropped off tremendously. Lastly was the sound quality. The sounds quality was soo great I had to run downstairs and have my husband try out the headphones. He totally agreed with me that these headphones are the BOMB Diggity! He is totally jealous and wants his own now.

I am loving my headphones sooo much I didn't take them off to make dinner for my kids. (It was sooo nice to be able to freely move around and not worry about getting the headphone cords caught on anything. And now I am wearing them to listen to music while writing this review. They are soo great I had to include these beauties on my Mother's Day Gift Guide for what your Wife really wants for Mother's Day. Women this is one gift guide you want to send to your husbands. Wink!

**As a side note, for those who don't have a large music library apple has a cool music subscription service called Apple Music that has a great selection.  You can also use your headphones to enjoy audio books on sites like Audible, and even enjoy videos on Youtube and Netflix.
