Our Stay at the SACO Apartments on St James Parade During Our Family Holiday at Bath.
(We were given a complimentary stay at the SACO Apartments to help facilitate this review. The Thoughts and Opinions expressed are entirely my own. Read my full disclosure here.)
The SACO Apartments on St. James Parade is the perfect place for families to stay when Visiting Bath, England.
Recently, my family had the Pleasure of visiting Bath, England. During our visit, we stayed at the SACO Apartments on St. James Parade. The SACO apartments are self-catered apartments (that means they have a full functioning kitchen) We absolutely LOVED our stay there. We got one of their two bedroom Apartments and tt was perfect for our family. Here are the top # reasons why we loved staying there and would highly recommend staying there for anyone visiting Bath (especially Families.):
1) The Location.
The Saco Apartments are right smack dab in the middle of Bath. Thanks to how close everything in Bath is close together we opted to not rent a car for this visit. Rather we rode on a bus from the Bristol Airport to Bath. The SACO apartments were close to the bus station which made it easy for us to walk from the Bus Station to the Apartments with now problem (though we were traveling with 3 kids and luggage.) Though for those driving a car they do have onsite parking.
The Saco Apartments is just a blog over from Bath's main shopping district where you can find an H&M store, various eateries, as well as fun shopping. Bath is a close-knit city you could cross it on foot in just 30-45 minutes and the SACO Apartments is smack in the heart of the city making it easy to venture out sightseeing while still making it easy to return back to the Apartment as needed.
2) The Customer Service.
The Saco Apartments offers 24-hour front desk service. Haveing a 24-hour manned front desk at the entrance of the apartments added a feeling of security to our stay. The employees working the front desk were not only nice but also very knowledgeable about Bath and where to find everything you are looking for. It was also nice to know that if anything happened we could call day or night for help/assistance.
When we arrived in our apartment they also had a nifty little manual explaining how to work all the electronics from the washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, and the heated towel racks in the bathroom etc. The book also included where to find everything you would need to in Bath as well as renter requirements (like where to take out your trash etc). They also had a bunch of pamphlets for exciting must-see places to visit in Bath.
3) The Self Catered Aspect.
The Saco Apartments are what are called Self Catered Apartments. The kitchen is stocked with cooking equipment to make it easy for you to cook you own food. This is very a very good thing when traveling with kids. Why? Because being able to cook your own food can cut down on food expenses and allow you to make foods for your kids that you know they will eat.
When we arrived at our apartment the kids were hungry. They were happy to see that there were some basic Breakfast essentials which they raided immediately as a snack to hold them off until dinner. I am glad we had also opted for the upgrade to the Full Breakfast Food Essential Pack. This allowed us to go eat out the first night and not have to go grocery shopping until the next afternoon. The Breakfast foods they supplied were perfect for a yummy and hearty meal which even my picky children absolutely loved. This helped us start our day right before heading out to do the tourist thing.
4) The Apartment Amenities.
In addition to the Kitchen stocked with all your cooking essentials, 24/7 front desk service our Apartment also came with a washer/dryer combo unit, TV's in each bedroom as well as living room, Oven Microwave, Dishwasher, Basic Wireless Internet (which we opted to upgrade to their Pro High-Speed Wireless), Towel Heater in Bathrooms, and my favorite L'Occitane Bath essentials (Shampoo, Conditioner, and Bathing Gel).
Basically, the SACO Apartments came with all the amenities needed for that home away from home experience. This makes it easier when traveling with kids.
5) Comfy Living Experience.
When we are traveling it is important for me to have a comfortable experience in our accommodations. I mean after a long day of sightseeing (and let me tell you we really pack our days when visiting a new area) I want comfort to relax in the evening. I loved the Bathrooms in the Apartments. The Tubs were deep allowing for that ideal Hot bath to relax at the end of the day. Even better their beds were nice and comfortable which is important for a good nights sleep.
For those down times before bed, I was happy that the rooms were each equipt with desks where I was able to get some necessary work done on my computer. Last of all each room was equipt with a lovely view of historic Bath. I loved having the curtains open so I could gaze out of this old city.
