Why We’ll Be Booking Our Car Rentals Through DiscoverCars.com From Now On
Have you ever tried booking a rental car through DiscoverCars.com? I recently used it for the first time during a family vacation to Florida—and let me just say, it made the process of renting two separate cars surprisingly simple!
For our trip, we needed one rental on the first day and another for the last few days. During the middle portion, we relied on hotel shuttles, so it didn’t make sense to keep a car the whole time. Since I’d heard good things about DiscoverCars.com, I decided to give it a try. Spoiler alert: I’m so glad I did.

Booking Our Rentals with DiscoverCars.com
When I went to the site, I plugged in the dates and location for both rentals—choosing Orlando International Airport for both pick-up and drop-off. That way, everything stayed streamlined with our flights.
Immediately, a list of car rental options popped up. The filters made it easy to compare prices, rental agencies, and car types. In the end, we went with two different companies based on availability and cost. It was super easy to book each one.

Using the DiscoverCars App
Once I made the bookings, I received confirmation emails with all the info I’d need to pick up each car. But I also noticed that DiscoverCars has an app—so I downloaded it, and I’m glad I did! The app stored everything I needed (no digging through email or printing papers), and as our trip got closer, it sent me helpful reminders and tips to ensure smooth pick-up and drop-off.
A Quick Heads-Up About Fees
Here’s something important to note: Even though I prepaid for our first rental through DiscoverCars.com, there were still a few extra charges at the counter. In Florida, toll roads are everywhere, so we paid for toll coverage, and we also added rental insurance. This is pretty standard, but I recommend budgeting a little extra just in case—and if you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to contact the rental agency in advance.
Also, while one of our rentals was fully prepaid, the second one was only partially paid upfront. That meant we had to cover the remaining amount (plus the toll coverage) at pick-up. I just made sure to set that money aside so it wouldn’t be a surprise.

Tips for Booking Through DiscoverCars.com
Overall, we had a really great experience, and I’ll definitely be using DiscoverCars again for future trips. If you’re thinking of booking through them, here are a few quick tips to help make your rental process even smoother:
- Choose fully prepaid options when possible. This means you won’t owe anything at pick-up, and your DiscoverCars payment can apply directly.
- Look for suppliers with high ratings (8.0 or higher) for better service and reliability.
- Pay attention to deposit requirements—you’ll need a credit card in the main driver’s name to cover this.
- Opt for Full-to-Full fuel policies to avoid inflated refueling charges.
- Check the mileage allowance—go for unlimited mileage if you’re planning to do a lot of exploring.
- Read the pick-up instructions carefully, especially if your rental location requires a shuttle or is off-site.
- In-terminal pick-ups are the most convenient, especially when you’re wrangling kids and luggage!
Whether you’re planning a beach vacation, road trip, or city adventure, DiscoverCars.com made renting a vehicle simple, flexible, and totally doable for our family.
Happy travels, friends!
