Staying at the Church Farm Cottages for our Family Visit to Wiltshire

Church Farm Cottages is the perfect place for families to stay when visiting Wiltshire, England.
I have always been in love with English cottages. There is just a charm about them that brings to mind cozy evening wrapped in a comfy blanket sipping a hot cup of tea or cocoa while enjoying a good book. I dream of someday having a tiny guest cottage in a corner of my backyard that I can use as my own private place (when I am not entertaining guests that is). Thankfully my husband loves cottages as much as I do, so maybe I will get my little cottage someday after all.
Meanwhile, when I found out that in between Bath and Bradford on Avon we could rent a cozy English cottage on an honest to goodness sheep farm I was sold. I just had to stay there. I was just as excited about staying there as I was for visiting our planning attractions which were spectacular. (You can read about our adventures in Wiltshire in my recent post here). As with most Hotels, and Apartments, the cottages available at Church Farm Cottages vary in size. They have 2 person cottages, 4 person cottages and an old granary that has been fully renovated which can sleep up to 12 people.
We booked one of the 4 person cottages (since our 3 kids are so young the cottage was a perfect fit. As we pulled up to the Church Farm Cottages I was taken with how picturesque the property was. I couldn't wait to get settled then go on a walk around to explore a bit as the sun was going down. My daughter was just taken with the property, for first thing upon entering our cottage 9and seeing the room she would e staying in with her little brothers) she spread her arms, twirled around and declared it to be "The most charming place EVER!"
In addition to how cozy and chic the cottage I was impressed how the owners left a detailed binder with everything, we would need to know about staying in the cottage, as well as information about the surrounding area (including where all the grocery stores and restaurants were.) They also left fixing for a traditional English tea to break our fast upon checking in.
After settling in for the night we went on a walk down the quiet country lane to enjoy the sunset. The kids loved watching the adorable sheep and my husband and I enjoy the peaceful surroundings as we watched the sun slowly sink behind the pastures.
The cottage comes with a small fridge/freezer. However, they do have an extra freezer available in their laundry room available for use if you need more room. They also have a game room with a pool table and foosball as well as a pool. We didn't have time on our short visit to utilize any of these amenities but it was nice to know they are available for future visits. Next time we come I look forward to checking out their little Farm shop and kitchen.
Since this wasn't just a holiday vacation for us but a working visit I was glad for the wireless internet provided as well as the peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay so much that we hope to be able to return for another, much longer visit in the not too distant future. If you are visiting The Wiltshire/Bath area I highly recommend checking out Church Farm Cottages to stay at. Seriously if you are looking for for a memorable experience you can't find a better place to stay.
