Make these fun Valentine Lovebugs with your kids using their favorite healthy snack...Wonderful Halos!

Materials

  • Halos mandarins
  • Foam hearts in two sizes, large and small
  • Toothpicks
  • Googly eyes
  • Glitter glue

Tools

  • Glue Dots

Instructions

Take a Wonderful Halos mandarin and clean it off (aka remove the sticker)

Place glue dots on a large (or two medium) foam hearts.

Stock heart to the bottom of the Halo to great feet.

Insert clean toothpicks into two smaller foam hearts (or if the foam hearts are thin, use a sticky dot on the back of the foam heart)

Insert the toothpicks into the top of the Halos mandarin next to each other to serve as antennae.

Stick eyes on Cutie. (if the eyes don't have adhesive backs use glue dots.)

Create a nose below the googly eyes with glitter glue.

My children loved these lovebugs so much when they were done. They oohed and awed and then played with their lovebugs for almost an hour before deciding they couldn't wait another minute to eat them.

I will have to make some more with my kids closer to Valentine's Day. I know they would really like that. Though I think I might try a different color glitter glue for the noses so they stand out more.
