Eating Smart with Weight Watchers

Sharing is caring!

This post was sponsored by Weight Watchers International, Inc. as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Have you ever tried Weight Watchers ® Freestyle Program or any of their endorsed/licensed products?

To start  I should tell you that I never had to worry about my weight until after I started having kids. Growing up I had a naturally high metabolism that allowed me to eat whatever (and however much) I wanted with no negative effects. However, as I said all this changed when I started having kids.

Now after 3 difficult pregnancies I am struggling to get back into shape.  I weigh about 70lbs more than I did before having kids, I have way less energy and suffer from waaaay to many headaches. I realized that things were only going to get worse unless I did something about it.

My first action toward better health was to up my water consumption. You need to be drinking the proper amount of water each day for your body to function and process food properly.  Next, I started getting more active by working out in the morning. However, I knew that the most important thing I could do (and the one I struggle with the most) would be my diet.

A healthy diet is not just a matter of what you eat (though that is an important aspect) it is also a matter of how much you eat. Weight Watchers is great with helping you with both those aspects while also encouraging you to live more active to reach your health and weight goals.  I love how with Weight Watchers you can join the full program (which includes guides, recipes,  and most importantly real-time support.  Or you can just take advantage of buying their endorsed licensed products to make choosing what to eat easier for when you are busy like I am but want to eat smart.

After hearing a bunch about this program I thought I would try out some of Weight Watcher’s licensed/endorsed foods.  I was specifically looking for foods to help with lunches and give me some better options for snack time. I was happy to find some Yummy looking Weight Watchers licensed/endorsed food items at my local Walmart really easy.  I love how each item had a point amount on it.  (**Points are an easier way to figure out how much to eat each day than calorie counting though they are basically the same idea. Basically, you get so many points a day in addition to however many vegetables you want to eat.  Weight watchers has a cool Weight Watchers® Scales by Conair® that you can buy at Walmart to help calculate your calories/points in the food you prepare yourself. or you can just go by their guides and point system)

First I tried out their Flatout® Flatbread which is one of Weight Watchers endorsed products.  I used it to make a Chicken, swiss and avocado wrap for lunch.  OMW it was AMAZING! Soo much better tasting than regular sandwich bread and way better for you. The Flatbread was only 2 Points.

Next, I was on the lookout for some smarter snack options (since this is where I struggle the most).  Since I LOVE both popcorn and Ice Cream  I decided to try out JOLLY TIME® Healthy Pop® Popcorn endorsed by Weight Watchers as well as  Weight Watchers Ice Cream Novelties.

I had a hard time choosing which Weight Watcher’s Ice Cream Novelty to buy. Walmart had two that were super delicious. In the end, I went with the Peanut Butter Caramel Ice Cream Bars.

I have to say I loved that the Jolly TIme Healthy Popcorn came in single serving size bags. How often do we overeat (even with snacks) because they don’t come portion size? The popcorn had a light butter flavor and was quite yummy and only 3 Points! I found that I liked it better than my normal popcorn. It is now my favorite movie treat and afternoon treat while working on my computer.

The Ice Cream Novelty bars were also quite tasty. They remind me of my favorite Candybar but bite-sized and ice cream. They are now my favorite afternoon indulgence or evening after dinner treat (which I seem to need at the end of a long trying day), and best of all they are only 4 points each!

After trying out these different Weight Watchers endorsed/ Licenced food products I would totally recommend them to anyone trying to eat healthier (regardless of whether you are officially doing their program or not.) They are great for busy moms to help them enjoy their food while at the same time being smart with how they eat so that they can lose that unhealthy extra weight.
