Forget about Tricks this Halloween and Focus on the Treats!
Haloween is such a fun time of the year. It is a time for fun and imagination to run wild. That is probably why one of my favorite school days as a kid was the one set apart to celebrate Halloween. I always loved getting to come to elementary school all dressed up in my Halloween costume (usually something homemade by my mother). That day, everyone would work as hard as they could so that after lunch we could celebrate! First, we would all line up and participate in a school-wide costume parade.
Then after the costume parade, it was time for the class parties. We would do Halloween crafts, play games, and best of all share with each other yummy treats. Back when I was younger we were able to bring homemade treats like cupcakes, cookies, and homemade rice Krispy treats. However, these days things I am informed that due to issues of health and safety all treats have to be prepackaged. Many teachers have to send out notifications to parents letting them know that their kids have to bring NON food to share due to food allergies, intolerance's, and sensitivities of some of the other students.
This is why making treat bags for Halloween school parties are so popular. You can put whatever you want in those cute little cellophane bags then just tie the bag closed and attach a little Halloween tag with a bit of ribbon. It's simple but totally worth it!
