Non-Spoiler Review for Disney's Jungle Cruise Movie!
I was shown a pre-screening of Jungle Cruise by Disney to facilitate writing this review.
Disney's Jungle Cruise is setting sail to a theater near you as well as Disney+ Premiere Access on Friday, July 30th!
What do you get when you bring together a female botanist, a helpless aristocrat, a wisecracking river skipper, feared Amazon natives, and a couple of 400-year-old cursed Spaniards? Well not a corny joke, though there were plenty of them to go around. No, what you get is a fun and exciting action-adventure movie that will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time.
When I first heard that Disney was making an Action-Adventure movie based on their popular park ride Jungle Cruise I was soo excited. Especially when I learned it would star Dwane the Rock Johnson and Emily Blunt. I love both of them and couldn't wait to see what they could do together on screen! When I saw the first official Jungle Cruise trailer I knew this movie was going to be amazing.

Jungle Cruise is a fast-paced Action Adventure movie that stars Emily Blunt as Dr. Lily Houghton is a fearless and determined botanist who is willing to face anything the Amazon can throw her way in order to find a legendary tree whose petals are said to possess the power to heal any wound or sickness. Dwane Johnson is a snarky, dishonest river skipper named Frank who has a habit of telling corny jokes but knows the Amazon better than anyone. This unlikely duo team up along with LIly's dandy of a brother who cares more about fashion than science but comes along this adventure into the Amazon in order to support his beloved sister.
However, they aren't the only three people looking for this ancient tree. There is also a ruthless German prince and some 400-year-old cursed Spaniards that are just as determined to claim the healing petals of the mythical tree to use for more selfish and evil deeds.
Who will get there first is the question and the fate of the world hangs in the balance? My whole family adored this movie and we find ourselves referring to favorite quotes and scenes even nowadays later. The cursed Spaniards were quite scary, but otherwise, it was totally appropriate for all ages. The movie is long as far as movies go but the acting, cinematography, and story were soo good you hardly noticed. In fact, we could have watched for longer. There was even a fun twist that took us all by surprise later in the movie that really made this a family favorite. If you are looking for a great movie to enjoy with your family this Summer I totally recommend it.
