Quick and Easy Orange, Lemon & Pineapple Dessert Jello

Sharing is caring!

Are you a Jello Fan?

Growing up in Utah I have Jello in my lifetime. Some were decent, some were horrible and some were fantastic. It’s all in what flavors you combine and what you put in them. For example,  I AM NOT a fan of shredded carrots in Lime Jello. Whoever thought of that combination has a twisted sense of taste. However, Raspberries mixed in Raspberry Jello can be yummy.  My favorite Jello dish is one that my dad would often make for us to eat along with Sunday dinner. We ate it as sort of a side dish/dessert and there were never any leftovers. The best part is this recipe is really simple and it sets up really quick.

This Jello makes for the perfect side dish for hot meals. It's so good it is practically a dessert.

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour 30 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 (3oz) box Lemon Jello
  • 1 (3oz) box Orange Jello
  • 1 (8.25 oz) can Crushed Pineapple with excess juices drained
  • 1 1/2 Cup Water
  • 2 Cups Ice

Instructions

  1. Bring water to boil.
  2. Add Jello mix and stir till dissolved.
  3. Pour Jello into a 9x13 pan filled with ice.
  4. Stir the jello and ice till the jello starts to thicken.
  5. With a slotted spoon remove all the ice.
  6. Pour Pineapple into the pan with jello and thoroughly swirl pineapple through semi-thickened Jello.
  7. Place in Fridge to fully set up. (takes about 1.5 hours to fully set up)

Other variations for this recipes is to add in canned grapefruit (drained) to mix with the pineapple. This makes for a more tart jello dish while the basic orange, lemon, and pineapple version has a more sweet flavor that rolls of the tongue.

Growing up my dad would always make this for a side dish for hearty or hot meals like my family’s Crock Pot Beef Stew (Get the Recipe HERE) that we would often have on Sunday’s after church.  As kids, we were always excited when we saw we were having the Orange, Lemon, and Pineapple Jello with our dinner.  It was always such a light refreshing treat to have! How do you like your Jello?
