If you are looking for a Budget friendly place to stay in Gallup, New Mexico? I would totally recommend The Days Inn Red Rock.
Yes, it is always fun to stay at a really nice 4 & 5-star hotel (To be honest when possible these are my preference when traveling). However as a mom with 3 kids I have also stayed in a fair amount of budget-friendly hotels over the years in order to be able to afford the vacation we wanted. The key is finding a quality budget friendly place to stay. You really don’t want to end up in a hotel with bugs, that isn’t clean, is falling apart and in a bad area just to save a buck. Quality is key even when going budget.
When looking for a good budget friendly place to stay with my kids I usually look at a few things.
- Price: If you are staying budget obviously the price is important to you.
- Amenities: Yes, I always look to see what the Hotel includes in their amenities. After all, you always want to get the Biggest Bang for your Buck.
- Reviews: Is the Hotel Clean, are the staff friendly & Helpful etc. This is really big when going budget.
- Location: Is the hotel in a good area, is it convenient to what you want to do.
If the hotel meets all the above criteria then I know it is a good option for my family.
Recently my husband and I attended the 2018 TMS Family Travel Conference& Summit. This year the conference was held in Gallup, New Mexico and all the attendees were given a hosted stay at the Days Inn Red Rock. Judging it according to the criteria I listed above it fit every requirement to make it the perfect budget-friendly accommodation for families visiting the Gallup area.
- Price- Rooms start at just $59.40 a night
- Amenities – The Days Inn Red Rock has general amenities like a Pool, Hot Tub Laundry Facilities, Wifi Internet, and Free Breakfast (this last one is big for it saves a lot of money not having to go and buy breakfast for your kids each day.). They also have room amenities like a hair blow dryer, coffee maker, & Flat Screen TV (which is great for those down times in your room). Our room also had a Refridgerator and microwave which also can help you save money on food.
- Reviews- While a bit worn (as most budget hotels tend to be) the Days Inn Red Rock was Clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the attendees missed the shuttle bus to the conference center (where the conference was being held and one of the desk clerks gave her a ride…who does that?!?)
- Location – The Days Inn Red Rock is located right on Route 66!
Would I bring my family back to stay here again? Yes, I would. Thanks, TMS Family Travel Conference, Gallup Tourism & Days Inn for the stay.
