What To Do In Bath, England In The Winter.

Have you considered visiting Bath, England in the Winter?
3 years ago we visited Bath in the Early spring with our 3 kids. (Read about our visit here. ) and we totally fell in love. So when planning our 10th Anniversary trip we had to set aside a few days to revisit Bath. Especially since this time my husband and I would be alone so we could enjoy some things we had to pass up when we came with small kids.
Traveling in the offseason has its advantages (fewer crowds for one thing.) You may not get the beautiful benefit of seeing Bath all abloom with spring flowers, but winter has a beauty all it's own.
On our first day in Bath, my husband and I enjoyed visiting the ancient Roman Baths. This time since it was just the two of us we decided to take the audio tour rather than just exploring on our own like we did when we visited with our kids.
It was great learning all the cool facts from the audio tour as we walked through the Baths.
After the Baths we had to go by the Bath Abbey next door. I loved visiting the Abbey previously and was excited to go back.
This time we took our time exploring. I was particularly in love with the amazing ceiling that arched overhead.
During our time in Bath, we stayed at the coolest place. It is the original Toll Keepers House (read our review here) It was the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Though it would be great for a family or a group of friends to stay at as well.
Our last stop of the day was the Holburne House which is this really cool museum.
My favorite things there were the little miniatures. Someday I would love to get official miniatures done of my whole family.
Our Second day in Bath we were surprised to see it snowing. It doesn't snow often in Bath so many of the places we were planning to visit sort of closed early due to extreme weather conditions.
Not afraid of the snow ourselves (being from Utah and all) we opted to go on a romantic walk through town and along the river Avon.
Our last day the snow had melted and we were able to visit the Bath Assembly hall and fashion Museum which was quite interesting to see the evolution of fashion.
We were also able to enjoy the City Sightseeing hop on and off bus tour through Townhead back to London. before we had to. I do love taking these tours to learn more about the places we visit.
In addition to the places, I mentioned Bath is full of fun places to visit that we would have gone back to if the unexpected weather hadn't stopped us. Yes, we may not have seen everything we had originally planned to see, but it was still an amazing visit and well worth the visit. If you have the opportunity to go even during the winter I highly recommend it.
