Beanie Boo Adoption Birthday Party

Sharing is caring!

Are you planning a Beanie Boo Birthday Party?

My kid's are obsessed with those adorable TY Beanie Boo stuffed animals. I have to admit they are really cute and thankfully inexpensive. I also like that they are small which make them the perfect toy to bring with us as we travel. This year for my daughter's 9th Birthday she requested a Beanie Boo Adoption Birthday Party (I am sure it was really an excuse to add to her growing collection.

Every year I give my kids 2 choices. I can throw them a general themed birthday party and invite lots of friends, or they can have me to a more elaborate themed birthday and invite a few close friends. My kids usually chose for the more elaborate birthday themes. Which I have to admit I love to do.

For her birthday party, the first thing I had to do was design a Beanie Boo themed Birthday Banner (go to the design space canvas here) You will want to make sure you have downloaded the TY Font which you can get here.

I bought a different Beanie Boo for each kid attending (that they would get to adopt at the party and take home as their party favor.) Thankfully Hobby Lobby and Michaels both carry Beanie Books and you can use their daily 40% off coupon to get them for less than $4 a piece.

However, I also thought it would be fun to make Beenie Boo headband's for each kid to let them have fun pretending to be their favorite Beanie Boo Character. I used my Cricut Maker, felt and hot glue to make the animal headbands and cardstock and adhesive foil to make the little beanie boo tags. (Go to the DIY Tutorial -->HERE<--

The kids each got to pick out their Beanie Boo Headband when they arrived, and the first activity was pretending to be petted at obedience school. First, they played "keep the balloon in the air: and then "Simon says".

Next, I used my Cricut Maker to make little carrying carrier for each Beanie Boo that the kids would be adopting at the party. (Go to the DIY tutorial -->HERE<--) I placed a Beanie Boo in each carrier and put them on the mantle (facing backward) so it would be a surprise for the kids on which Beanie Boo animal they would each get (in order to avoid fighting over who got which).

After I handed out all the Pet Carriers filled with their mystery Beanie Boo Pets the kids each got to fill out an adoption certificates and use markers to decorate their pet carriers.

Then we cleared the table and pulled out the food. For this party we kept the food simple. I got Chocolate and vanilla animal crackers which I put in red plastic bowls that I got cheap at walmart and decorated with adhesive foil paw prints. (Go to the Design Space Canvas for the paw prints -->HERE<--)

in addition to the cookies we had simple cupcakes (per my daughter's request) and ice water in little milk jug bottles and red & White straws.

After eating it was time to go open pressents and then all the kids played together with their new Beanie Boo pets until their parents came to get them. All in all the party was a hit!

  1. I tried following the link to the boxes you created on cricut, but the link seems to be broken. :(. I'd really love to be able to do this for my daughter's birthday!

    1. Sorry Evry now and then Cricut updates their design space and the old canvas links get broken. Let me update the link again.
