Are you looking for ideas for a Buffalo Plaid Christmas Party?
With November now being halfway over it's time to start planning those Christmas Parties coming up. I have two I am helping throw this year. One is a Harry Potter Christmas Party for close friends & family (location undetermined as of yet). The other is my extended family Christmas party being held at my parent's house.
I still have a lot of prep to do for the Harry Potter Party. (It won't be too much since we are doing a Hary Potter-themed Christmas (at the behest of my kids) so I'll be able to borrow a lot of decorations from home. For the Family Christmas party, I decided to have a little fun and go with a fun Christmas Plaid theme and was able to find everything I needed at Oriental Trading Company. They really are my go-to online retailer for party essentials.
Since I am big on throwing parties and planning all the little details I thought to set up a pre mockup on our party to make sure everything went together as I had visualized it and to see if I had any holes that I needed to fill before the big day. Happily, everything came together amazingly! I paired the red and black plaid with splashes of white for a more classic look rather than the more custom rustic look.
Come the Christmas Party my parents will be All decked out in their Holiday decore, so for this party, I focused on the food table in the kitchen. On the right-hand side we have a Hot Cocoa Bar (with insulated plaid cups w/lids and a few fun mix-ins like chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and peppermint sticks.
The middle of the table is all about yummy snacks to enjoy with your coco laid out on beautiful white ceramic serving plates and plaid bowls (with plates and napkins served on a black and plaid wood serving tray in front of two white metal & glass lanterns filled with led wire lights.
On the left-hand side of the table are little favor bags filled with butter mints and chocolate bells laid out in front of a gorgeous wood "may your days be merry and bright" tree decoration.
For the backdrop, I hung white lights and Plaid paper rosettes. And lastly, for the table a simple black tablecloth with a plaid table runner. and on the tree next to the food table I kept it simple with white lights, a plaid ribbon and a few red ornaments we had from years past.
