Staying at South Point Hotel (Near Vegas) for the Win!
Did you know that Every Year in March The South Point Hotel near Vegas holds a contest where everyone is a Winner?
Ironically they call this annual contest their "Everyone's a Winner Contest" where one lucky person will win the Grand prize worth over 5k which includes tickets to see the National Nascar race and sooo much more. However, and here is the best part, Everyone who enterers the contest is guaranteed to win a FREE Night Stay at South Point (which has to be booked to stay between May 30th and September 8th)
When I first heard of South Point's Contest I thought it sounded too good to be true. However, some friends told me that they have participated in this contest every year for several years and it is totally legit. So I entered and had my husband enter. Of course, we didn't win the grand prize. We did, however, get emails notifying us that we had won the promised 1 night stay.
Since both my husband and I had entered the contest we had 2 free nights to redeem. When I called in to make the reservation for my husband and my free night stay the South Point employee on the other end of the phone was super nice and accommodating. She set up our reservations not only back to back but in the same room! Sure we had to check in twice and check out twice but we didn't have to move our things. I totally didn't want to be one of THOSE PEOPLE but I ended up calling in and changing my reservation date twice because unexpected scheduling conflicts but they were gracious each time and changed the reservation with no hesitation.
When we arrived at South Point checking in was easy. Yes, we had to walk through part of the casino to get from the parking garage to the front desk and then back to our rooms but it wasn't bad (even with all our luggage and 3 little kids). We did learn that there was another entrance near the Front Desk that you can use with their Valet service for more convenience. Check took less than 5 minutes and then we were off to our room!
4 Things I really love About South Point Hotel
1-Their Amazing Pool.
We ended up spending each morning of our stay enjoying their gorgeous pool. By going first thing in the morning it wasn't too hot and the pool was always close to empty. My husband laughed that the grass around the pool (where all the sun bathing beds were) was actually astroturf. However, after thinking about it, we were both glad that they were practicing wise water conservation at their hotel.
2-Their Rooms
While the rooms are simple we really enjoyed staying in them. The kids loved that out room overlooked the pool area. (yeah we totally lucked out there) I liked the comfortable beds which made it easy to fit our whole family in one room. The bathrooms were nice and the Cable TV was convenient for when we wanted to just lay back and relax.
3-Conveniently close to great Shopping
When packing for our Vegas mini Vacation we realized that my husband needed to swim pants. Thankfully there were some great Strip mall/outlet malls near South Point that we were able to get not only swim trunks but also other great clothes at killer prices our first day there.
4-Their Bowling Center
South Point has quite the Bowling set up with 64 lanes ready for your family's enjoyment. They also have she rentals from kids size 7 to Men's size 17. We don't go bowling often but my kids adore it so they were pretty excited to learn about their Bowling Center.
At the end of our stay check out was just as easy as check in was and we were on our way home with a lot of great memories. I hope they run this contest this next year for if they do I will be sure to enter again.
