Check Out The New Menu Items at Mimi's Cafe!

Did you Know Mimi's Cafe has more than 20 New Items on their Menu?

This last week (the day before heading out of town on our family's current Travel Adventure) my husband and I were asked to come into our local Mimi's Cafe to try out some of their new menu items. We were excited to do so since their food is always amazing (and this was an excuse for a rare date night without kids)
For those who have never eaten at Mimi's Cafe, they are a French American restaurant with a quaint French county cafe style decor. My husband and I have eaten there multiple times and their food doesn't disappoint.
Mimi's Cafe has 20 new items on their menu. You can tell which items are new or improved because they are highlighted on the menu.
We started our meal sharing one of the new (and very popular) appetizers their Black & Bleu Chicken Quesadilla (Quesadillas made with Blacken chicken, bacon, green onions, tomatoes and Monterey Jack cheese, and blue cheese dressing (with cole slaw and salsa to dip the quesadillas in). The first thing I noticed with this appetizer, as well as the new dinner entrees we tried, was the spices. It takes a fine balance to use strong spices in a flavorful yet non-overpowering way but they did an excellent job.
In addition to the Quesadillas, I ordered a cup of their French Onion Soup. The onions were beautifully caramelized and went perfectly with the melted cheese in this tasty soup.
For the Main Course, my husband and I decided to try different dishes. He chose their Roasted Chicken Croque Monsieur which our server jokingly referred to as an Adult Grilled Cheese Sandwich. (It is a Sourdough sandwich made with pulled roasted chicken, caramelized onions, that is topped with Mornay sauce and Swiss Cheese)
I chose their Tuscan Style Grilled Chicken (Grilled Chicken Breast served with roasted potatoes, vegetables, and artichokes with a side of grilled garlic bread. ) My dish was a bit spicier than my husbands. but both were very delicious. and the Chicken in my dish was soooo good. Like I said earlier, when talking about their Quesadilla, these dishes both utilized spices blended for that perfect mix of delicious flavors making it so you wished the meal would never end.
Now for dessert, we decided to share their Petit Trio where we were able to choose 3 of their signature desserts in Petit size to be served on a platter for us to share. We chose their Chocolate Chip Bread pudding, French silk pie, and Cheesecake Parfet. This was perfect since we were quite full but still wanted to enjoy a little treat. All three petit desserts were delicious but the french silk pie was my favorite.
We can't wait to go back and try some of the other new items on their menu! Hmmm my Birthday is coming up in 2 weeks. Maybe we can go out then...
