Disney's Live Action Cinderella...? Oh Yeah, I'm Counting Down The Days!!!
A well-told story has the power to open new worlds and vistas to the soul.
I adore reading. I am totally what you could term a book worm. I am always on the lookout for another great book or author to add to my ever-growing least of must reads. Even with everything on my plate I have still finished 3 books so far this year and am working on my fourth. (One has plenty of time to read when you are up all night dealing with croupy kids)
Of all the different kinds of books out there, my favorite kind to read are fairy tales.
There is a reason that almost every civilization has their version of these timeless tales that have been passed down for generations. I have found that I can read these same classic tales (like Cinderella, beauty and the beast, Snow White, sleeping beauty, twelve dancing princesses...) told a million different ways and never get bored. On the contrary, I find that with each reading I learn new powerful lessons and am inspired in new and profound ways.
I feel the same way about certain movies. Maybe that is why I am sooo excited to see Disney's live-action Cinderella which comes out in just over two months (the day before my 6th wedding anniversary). Will this movie live up to my expectations? I don't know. That is always a gamble when a beloved classic is remade. What I do know, however, is that I love the theme of this retelling.

The world needs more of this kind of magic. Our world truly does need more kindness, goodness, and courage.(emphasis on kindness.)
