There is just something magical about a sky lit up with hundreds of floating paper lanterns.  If you don't believe me go rewatch Disney's movie Tangled.  A few years ago my family got to experience our first Lantern Fest and it truly was as magical as I hoped it would be. I am soo excited that the Lantern Fest is coming back to Utah this next month (I already have my tickets to take my family and would love to see you there too.

For those of you who have never attended a Lantern Fest before, I totally recommend arriving early (we intend to get there right as the gates open at 4:30) so we can claim a good spot. Don't worry they have tons of entertainment available ( food, live music, a stage show, princesses, face painting, s'mores, balloon artists and more.) for the whole family to keep everyone happy until the actual lantern launch happens after the sun sets.  I recommend bringing some snacks and drinks as well as a blanket you don't mind getting really dirty and some camping chairs to sit in. Just plan on bringing what you need for hours of fun (but note you will have to get your stuff from your car to the firepit you will claim.  Seriously it is an experience you will never forget!
