Healthier Cooking With NewAir's Magic Chef® 10.5 Quart Air Fryer Oven
(I received a complimentary Air Fryer Oven from NewAir to facilitate this review. However, the views and opinions expressed are entirely my own. You can read my full disclosure here.)
Have you been looking into buying an Air Fryer for your home?
Air Fryers are the hottest must-have kitchen appliance for healthier cooking. It was at the top of many a mom's Christmas Wish list last month for a reason. With an Air Fryer, you can enjoy all your favorite fried foods with little to no oil. I have to admit that I have been wanting to get an Air Fryer for a while now. The question is which one to get. In the end, after looking at the many kinds available I went with the Magic Chef® 10.5 Quart Air Fryer Oven available at New Air.
There were a few reasons why I wanted this Air Fryer:
- The size of this Air Fryer Oven was perfect to make meals for my whole family all at once.
- With the Oven racks, I could cook multiple things at the same time.
- With the glass door front, I could watch my food cook which allows me to gauge how long to cook foods I didn't have a specific Air Fryer recipe for.
- In addition to Air Frying, this unit also has a Rotisserie, Dehydrating, and Baking abilities.
When my Air Fryer Oven arrived I couldn't wait to open it up and try it out. I was excited to see that it came with a cookbook as well as an instruction manual to get me started (though I knew there are lots of recipes online for Air Fryers as well.)
The first thing I did after reading the user manual (a must when you get new equipment.) was to wash the cooking racks and drip pan so that I could then start cooking. After looking through the cookbook for inspiration and seeing what ingredients I had on hand I decided to do a tray of bacon-wrapped tater tots (as well as 2 trays of regular tater tots) since my kids like them. in just 10 minutes they were done and cooked to perfection.
My next tine using my new Air Fryer Oven was to make a favorite family dinner normally cooked in the oven. On the bottom rack, I cooked chopped potatoes lightly covered in Olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt. Then when the potatoes were near to be done cooking I added sliced chicken sausage to the middle rack and Broccoli (lightly coated in oil and sprinkled in sea salt) to the top rack. Like with the tater tots this meal took less time to cook than it did in the oven and it was just as delicious.
Next, I wanted to cook something that I traditionally Deep fried to see how it would turn out. So I made my favorite Pork Wontons (recipe here) I had heard that if you want foods that are traditionally deep-fried to have a similar crunch and taste to lightly spray them with oil. I wanted to compare cooking the wontons with a light oil coating and without any oil to see if there was a big difference and which I liked better so half the wantons I lightly sprayed with avocado oil and the other half I left plain. In the end, I loved both versions, but the ones with the light coating of oil did have an extra crunch.
I love how easy the Magic Chef® 10.5 Quart Air Fryer Oven is to operate thanks to the led touch controls on the top and easily removable oven racks and drip pan. All you need to do is set your time and temperature and load your racks (making sure nothing is touching the top of the inside of the Air Fryer and start it cooking. If you need to pause the Air Fryer to turn or check on the food cooking all you have to do is open the door. Everything will resume as soon as the door is closed.
After you are done cooking let your Air fryer cool and then wash the racks and drip pan and wipe down the inside walls and door of the Air Fryer with a wet cloth. Easy Huh? I love how portable this Air Fryer Oven is. All I need is a flat surface and a plug socket and I can cook healthy tasty meals in minutes!
