Are you looking for a Child Carrier that works great for Toddlers?

As a young mom, I loved the convenience of having a baby carrier. My husband and I took turns wearing it while out and about with each of our kids. However, sadly they each grew out of that infant carrier all too soon. Then we had to rely on using strollers or just carrying out kids in our arms. All the while wishing we had a Child Carrier that would work with young kids.

As we have started traveling more extensively with our kids we have learned that there are many places that strollers just won't go. Likewise, there are times when we need our hands-free and cant just carry our kids in our arms (not to mention the fact that our youngest 2 kids at age 3 and 5 are not as light as they used to be making it hard to carry them for any real length of time without serious discomfort.

No having a child carrier has become more of a need than just a want. And so we went on the hunt to find a quality Toddler carrier. One that would work for either of our younger two kids while not straining our backs too much.

When we were offered the chance to try out the Freeloader Child Carrier to review on my blog I was happy to do so. For after looking at the details of this Toddler carrier it seemed to fit everything we needed in a child career. The frame is ergonomically designed to support the back with shoulder and waist straps and a curved frame.

Though my husband will be the primary adult using the carrier, I wanted to personally try out the Freeloader Child Carrier in order to write this honest review. So as soon as my carrier arrived last week I tried it on, adjusted the straps to fit just right and have my -year-old climb on. I was happy with how easy it was to carry my son this way. I didn't even have problems carrying my 5-year old in it and I have cronic lower back issues.

In addition to how well it was designed to handle the weight of my children so that my back wasn't strained in using it, I was very happy with how easy it was to get my children in and out of it. This is important since I like to have my kids walk as much as possible (to build their stamina, keep their bodies active and healthy, and wear them out so I can have more peace at home when the outing is over. They designed the Freeloader so you could strap your children into the carrier then put it on (for when you have to do it by yourself) or have someone lift your child onto the carrier then strap them up while you are wearing it.

When your child is not in the carrier the seat folds upward to discreetly rest against the back of the Freeloader. Then when its time to put your child in, you just flip the seat down, lift the child onto it and strap them in. The carrier has shoulder straps for the kids (which my youngest wiggles out of, but I am not worried since the other straps stay in place) a Strap that goes across the back connecting the shoulder straps, and a strap for each leg.

The Free Loder Child Carrier is built for children 2 ½ years and older, who can sit up independently and weigh up to 80 lbs. There are 3 different sizes for the carriers. The website tells you how to measure to get the right size for your back. Thankfully my husband and I were the same sizes. They also come in different colors. Though we chose plain black and gray to stay discreet while traveling. After all, black goes with everything.

In the week and a half since we have had our FreeLoader, we have used it multiple times. We used it when going to the State Fair, when shopping at an outdoor mall downtown, and while exploring some walking paths through a large park. We have alternated using it for both our 3-year-old and 5-year-old with no problem.

I am very happy with this carrier and plan to take it with us wen we head out on the road for our Fall and Winter Travels. Honestly, I don't know how we did so long without one.
