The Lord is Good To Me!
Have you ever had a Song stuck in your head that you were glad to have there?
This morning while taking a shower after getting in my daily workout (thanks to my amazing husband who watched the kids to give me the tame to take care of myself) I found myself singing The Lord is Good To Me!
I am not sure if the first time I heard this simple yet profound song.
Whether it was from my mother or from Disney's American Legends. All I know is that I have always loved it. It wasn't until later in my life that I learned that the song sung by the cartoon Johnny Appleseed in Disney's movie was actually a Swedenborgian Hymn and that it is believed that John Chapman actually sang.

"I was brought almost physically to my knees in gratitude to my God for how blessed I am."
As I found myself singing, "The Lord is Good to Me, and so I'll thank the Lord..." Thoughts of all the ways I have been blessed (small and great) began to filter through my mind. I was brought almost physically to my knees in gratitude to my God for how blessed I am. It was then that the words I was singing began to sink deep into my heart and I found myself instead of singing uttering a quiet Prayer to God in Gratitude that I could not contain. Afterward, as I finished my shower and got back to filling my roles as a wife, mother, and homemaker I did so with Joy and peace that filled me with what seemed like light.
