Book Review: Mystic Invisible ⋆ The Quiet Grove

Mystic Invisible is a fun, clean, young adult fantasy you won't want to put down.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine reached to me asking if I would be willing to read her soon-to-be-published young adult fantasy book that she just finished writing. I informed my friend that I don't do book reviews often, and that I am currently very busy with other work obligations but that for her I would love to. I'm so glad I did, when I finally found a free moment to read her book, Mystic Invisible I couldn't put it down.

The book was soo good, that I actually ended up reading the entire novel in one day yesterday. Just couldn't put it down. I really hope she is working on a sequel for I can see this becoming a great fantasy series.

In Mystic Invisible, we find out that Mystics have secretly lived side by side with Norms (non-magic people) for centuries. However, their secret existence is threatened by a series of deadly attacks happening in the Highlands of Scottland. 15-year-old Monte and his older brother Garrick are uprooted from their home in Salem, Massachusetts when their parents are assigned to investigate the attacks.

However, things are not as they appear and the stakes are higher than anyone could imagine in the Highlands. Monte must learn to trust his new and mysterious friends in a race against evil. All the while being bound by strict (and hopefully temporary) Mystic bans of using magic.

I don't want to give away too much about the story (which I have been accused of doing when sharing about books & movies I enjoy) so I don't' want to say much more than I have... but I will say I loved the mystery surrounding the shell Monte finds on the beach back in Salem. I also loved the characters of Monte, Cameron, and Finn. I hope in future books we can get to know them even more!

If you are looking for a fun young adult fantasy to read and enjoy, I highly recommend Mystic Invisible by Ryder Hunte Clancy. You won't be disappointed.
