DIY Overnight Guest Welcome Basket (with Free Printables)
Do you get excited when you find out you are going to have an Overnight Guest?
update: Yes I am aware that in the photos for this post it shows an error in one of the printables (that dratted extra n in blankets) I am very embarrassed and though I caught the mistake almost immediately, it was after I made the photos and posted the pins that still circulate for this post. The error is fixed on the actual printable.
I have a secret confession to make. When we bought our first home the thing I was most excited about wasn't the kitchen (which is gorgeous), the front porch, the large back yard, or even the ability to paint my rooms whatever color I wanted to put as many nails in the walls to hang my decor as I desired. No the thing I was most excited about was our guest room. That's right I finally had a room dedicated to visiting guests.
I have always loved hostessing and having overnight guests for me is the ultimate form of hostessing (even more than throwing a dinner party). Growing up I always dreamed of someday having a home with a designated guest room. I would have it decorated super cute and whenever someone came to visit I would put out a special basket full of treats for them to enjoy.
I have seen other overnight Guest Gift Baskets online over the years. Some are quite cute. However, I have noticed that most are focused on providing guests with basic bathroom toiletries, etc. I don't know about you, but when I travel I travel with all my favorite toiletries (soaps, toothbrush, toothpaste, scrubs, etc.) That's why I decided in my Overnight Guest Gift basket to focus on treats to make my guests feel special as they enjoy them.
First I created a simple Printable where the Host/Hostess can write in important info (Wi-fi Password, Extra Linens, Extra Blankets, Toilet Paper, & Snacks). You can put the 5x7 printable in a frame or just use it as it.
Next (probably since I am a book worm and assume everyone loves a good book like myself) I created a "Keep Calm and READ a BOOK" bookmark to place with a favorite book for my guests to enjoy during their stay.
I am all about having a drink on hand to enjoy so I create an "Enjoy this Drink" Water bottle wrap which should also work on other-sized drinks.
Then I just bought some other fun treats and a box of kleenex and made a printable saying "Help Yourself and Enjoy the Treats".
Then I placed everything in or next to the basket with a "Be Our Guest: Make Yourself At Home" Printable on the front to reinforce the fact that I am soo happy they are staying with me.

That's an awesome idea!
Thanks!
When I tried to download the printables, it took me to Sunshine Basket Printables instead of the DIY overnight guest Welcome Basket printables. They would work better for me because I don't have a color printer.
Thank you for letting me know. For some reason the guest basket download wasnt showing up on the page. I have fixed it now so if you go to that page again you will find it. If you have any other issues, then please let me know.
Love these, but noticed that "Blankets" is misspelled and the pdf cannot be edited 🙁
What? Oh no. I will fix that right away.
It's all fixed. So sorry about that.
Thank you
