How to Throw An Epic Red Party

Are you looking for ideas for how to throw an epic RED party?

There are a lot of reasons to throw a party. You have Birthdays and Anniversaries, Holidays and Special Events. Then you have those parties you throw just because you want an excuse to get together and have fun with the people you care about. Our recent RED Party was one of those just because parties we threw because it had been too long since we got together with our friends (since we had been traveling out of the country with our kids for the last several months)

I got my Decorations for my party from The Oriental Company. Did you know they have a whole section for color themed parties? They had soo much awesome stuff that would be perfect for my RED Party. If anything I had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to get from them, in order to keep with my budget.

We decided to throw a fun and light-hearted party. Our friends insisted we watch the movie RED which we hadn’t seen in years but knew was hilarious so of course, I said yes.

To go with the fun lighthearted theme I decided to put together a RED color themed Candy bar. I had seen these done at bridal/baby showers as well as wedding receptions and have been dying for years to do my own.  To keep the cost down I opted for inexpensive plastic candy holders which I could still use over and over again. I bought my candy from Winco since they have the candy bins with a huge selection.

With all the candy I knew it would be important to have some non-candy food to eat. So I cooked up some red sauce enchiladas and next to the candy table I cut up Strawberries and Watermelon to serve along with Raspberry Infused Water served up in a Drink dispenser I also got from Oriental Trading Company.  To keep the fruit from jamming the dispenser faucet I layered the bottom of my drink dispenser with glass beads before adding the raspberries, ice & water. I loved how it all looked in the end.

I opted for square Red plates, red cups, red forks and simple red napkins that I upgraded by using my Cricut Cuttlebug embosser to emboss a fun design on each one.  (it only took a few seconds for each napkin but really turned out cool)

For the final touch in for our RED Party, I had my husband put up red tissue hanging fans. and put up some Red streamers. I love how those simple decorations totally added to the whole party.

The party was a hit with everyone. We all agreed that we need to do these sort of “Just Because” sort of parties. We all laughed ourselves till the weee hours of the night.  Best of all when we were done the cleanup was a quick and easy as the setup thanks to Oriental Trading Company.
