Strengthening Marriage with Couples Massage 101 Class

Recently, my husband and I were happy to be able to attend a Couples Massage 101 class in Lehi, Ut.

When I heard about the class to teach couples techniques to properly massage each other I was intrigued and a little excited.  My husband was a little more hesitant. After all the class was just 2 days after we got in town from traveling internationally with our kids for several months. That and he wasn't sure how he felt about attending a massage class. Men... Thankfully, my husband is a good sport (he has been my escort for more than one blogger event that put him out of his comfort zone.)

When we arrived at the Couples Message 101 class  (held at Move Dance Studio in Lehi, Saturdays from 7-9 PM) my husband and I were happy to see that the classes are kept small.  This allowed us to better relax as well as follow the instructions as demonstrated by the instructor.  As for the class, each technique was carefully demonstrated, then we took turns practicing it on each other. As we tried each technique there was a second instructor who moved through the class adjusting our hands and giving helpful tips to make sure we were doing the technique properly.

By the time we were halfway through the 2-hour class both my husband and I were so relaxed we didn't want to move. Months of travel stress and parent stress had melted away leaving us balls of malleable putty. At this point, my husband turned to me and admitted that he was glad I signed us up for the class. It was great to learn ways to better massage (and care for each other).  Through the class, we had to communicate with each other what was and wasn't working as well as what we liked and didn't like. etc... By the end of the class, we not only felt much better we also felt closer. The owner of Coupes Massage told us that he started this business as a way to help bring couples closer together and if my husband and I (who have a close relationship already) are any indication he will be very successful in his goals.

I learned a lot at the class as did my husband. At the end of the class, my only complaint was that I was afraid that I wouldn't remember all the amazing techniques we had learned over the last 2 hours. That's when we were told that now that we had taken the class we would be sent the videos demonstrating each technique we had learned. This two-hour class was their upper body class.  I loved it soo much I now want to take their lower body class.

Each 2-hour course is only $160 which is a killer price for what is offered.  The classes are always 2 hours from 7-9 pm on Saturday Nights in Lehi, Ut
