30-Day AB Challenge (With Free Printable)

Sharing is caring!

Have you ever tried a 30-Day AB Challenge?

After my second child was born I was determined to get healthy. I missed my old self. I struggled with feeling beautiful. Nothing fit or looked right on me anymore and I was always tired. Since we were trying to save for a down payment on a house we moved in temporarily with my husband’s parents. They had an elliptical machine that I started taking advantage of every day. Add to that I upped my water intake (check out the benefits of drinking enough water here), cut back on sugar, upped my vegetable intake, and cut back on my grains. And guess what?!? the lbs started melting off. In 8 months I went from 201lbs to 153lbs. Even though I weighed more than when I first got married I was waaaaay healthier. I looked better and felt better. However, my stomach bothered me. my abs were weak and my stomach sagged with a pouch.

I looked online for suggestions and saw the 30-day Ab challenge. After reading up about it I decided to take the challenge and I have to say I LOVED IT. Oh, it was hard but I saw great results. We ended up moving into our new home at the end and I felt like a new me ready to start a new life.

Fast forward almost six years, another difficult pregnancy,  starting our own business, 2 more moves and a whole lot of stressful times and I am in dire need of some intervention to get healthy and fit again.  Seriously it’s more than just a matter of weight (which I have too much of). It is about being healthy, having energy, and feeling good from the inside out.

Recently I started using my daily physical activity (walking, using our elliptical, playing more with my kids.), Increasing my water intake, and improving my diet. However, while all these things have helped I needed something more.  And so I decided to once again take the 30-Day Ab Challenge. However this time I challenged my husband to do it with me. After all, it’s our middles that need our TLC the most.

We couldn’t find a good printer-friendly calendar for our challenge, so I had my husband design one for me.  Each Day has a box to check off once you have completed the challenge as well as illustrations at the bottom demonstrating each workout in the Challenge. I formatted these printables as a ready-to-print PDF file that you can either print at home or at your local copy center.

The key to this Challenge is that you start simple and work your way to more intense. This way you don’t hurt yourself jumping in far to fast. Oh, it will push you for sure, but you will find that it will condition you at the same time making it possible to do more and more.

In addition to doing this challenge, I recommend doing some back stretches/exercises. This will keep you from hurting your back as you strengthen your abs. You can find a bunch of these stretches/ exercises on Pinterest.

The first day my husband and I did the AB challenge my kids decided to join in on the fun and do the challenge with us. You know what they say…A family who stays fit together has more fun together.
