(I don’t have a lot of time to write today for I am about to head out the door with my family to a much awaited day at lagoon with grandparent’s, aunts, Uncles, and cousins…However I felt I needed to write this quick post.)
I just watched this youtube video where a bunch of kids were asked about abortion and it broke my heart.
First each child was asked get to know you questions. Then they were asked about what they thought about babies. Lastly, they were asked about abortions. Is abortion ok if… Each child answered without hesitation.
As I watched this video, the question that kept circling through my mind, “At what point as a people did we go from knowing (as a child) that killing a baby is wrong to believing (as an adult) that abortion is totally ok?”
When did abortion change from being murder of innocent life to just an exercise of women’s rights. When did we decide that convenience was more important then life?
My husband said he saw this morning a video of a partial birth abortion and he was horrified. He almost started crying as he described how this baby who was fully developed and alive was killed before his eyes. I too have seen such videos and each time my heart has cried out from within, ” How could we be doing this to millions of babies every year?”
I know that his is a heavy topic (one that I didn’t plan on writing about on my blog. However after talking to my husband, and watching this video I just have to ask, ” How can we as a people believe this is ok?”
Even more important how can we change this? How can improve in our teach our children about the sanctity of life so that when presented with wordy reasoning they hold true to the teaching of God?
Having children is not easy. Raising children is even harder. I will be the first to admit it. Despite this, I believe that children are the best blessing God can give us. Children are our hope and our future. They are the reason we are here.
