Did you know that you can have Chick-Fil-A cater your event?
This last month one of my younger brother’s got married. While most of the wedding planning falls on the brides family but the rehearsal dinner (or in our case wedding lunch) is put on by the groom’s family. When it came to When planning the wedding lunch my brother told us we could do whatever we wanted. So my mother, sisters and I sat down to discuss our options.
My mother was all for us making the food ourselves As we had done for some of my other brother’s wedding luncheons. After all, we all are great cooks. However, with all, we were doing to help the Bride’s family with the reception I was adamant that we didn’t want to add to our stress by self-catering the wedding luncheon. (which we had done with pat family weddings so I knew all the work it entailed.
If we weren’t going to cater the luncheon ourselves then we had to decide whether to have the Luncheon at a favorite restaurant or to have it catered. Since my brother was expecting about 100 people to be there, half of which were going to be children. The thought of corraling 50 young kids at a nice restaurant was enough to make me shudder (even if only 3 of them would be my own.) My sister who also has 3 young kids was in agreement.
And so, in the end, it because the natural choice to have the luncheon at our local church (which had room and tables enough for everyone to comfortably eat) and then have a favorite eatery cater. Now we just had to decide who to have cater. We wanted to go with a place that served kid-friendly food that adults would enjoy as well. Which is why (much to the delight of my children) we chose to have Chick-Fil-A cater!
With that agreed I set up a meeting at our local Chick-fil-a (the Orem Plaza Location). I wasn’t sure at first what and how much I wanted to order for the Luncheon. I knew how many people were expected to come, and that we would all be hungry after the wedding. However, I also knew that there was going to be fully filling meal at the reception. Thankfully, Chick-fil-a knows their stuff and they were able to walk me through their catering menu and when I explained our needs, they were able to help me choose what I needed to order. Next time I can totally order Online.
Chick-fil-A had a lot of delicious menu items to choose from. In the end, we chose a couple of their large trays of chicken nuggets (with their yummy dipping sauces), Some large chicken wrap trays, a large garden salad, a large fruit salad, and a couple of gallons of yummy fresh-squeezed lemonade.
When you do Chick-fil-a catering you make your order, choose whether to have them deliver or if you will pick up (we chose to have them deliver for convenience.) and they enter it in the system. The morning of the wedding I got a call from Chick-fil-a confirming my order, and the time and location of the delivery so I knew everything was taken care of.
After the wedding, I headed over to my sister’s church to set up the table and chairs and soon we were ready and waiting for the food to arrive. a small cheer went up when the food arrived. The Orem Plaza Chick-fil-a did a great job. You could tell everything was freshly made and they brought the hot food in heated bags to keep their temp nice and hot and the cold food was cool and refreshing. The employees were nice and sweet and they not only brought the food they helped set it out for us. They even brought some adorable little stuffed (eat more chikin) cows for decorating the food table as an extra touch.
Everyone was sooo glad we went with Chick-fil-A to cater the lunch. The food was delicious and we ordered just the right amount. I loved seeing the big smiles of all the kids and adults as we ate and talked and laughed and relaxed after the wedding before heading over to finish setting up the reception.
If you are planning a wedding lunch I totally recommend having Chick-fil-A cater. As we head into the holiday season you might want to consider even having them cater your holiday party… If you are in Utah County stop by the Orem Plaza location and try their delicious food and service you won’t regret it.
